Abstract: Based on the principles of river dynamics and soil mechanics, a conceptual model test was performed regarding bank collapse in the lower and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Mechanism of bank stability and its failure process, as well as effect of seepage intensity, bank slope and scour and so on, was analyzed. Results are helpful for the further understanding of mechanism of bank collapse in the Yangtze River.
