Abstract: Monitoring the river sedimentation is of importance for studying the behavior of the River Nile and Lake/Nasser. Modern Remote Sensing Techniques (RS) are capable of detecting the periodical changes of the river sedimentation within a certain depth. To generate an accurate longitudinal profile for the Nile Basin, a differential global positioning system (DGPS) accompanied by an echo sounder is utilized. To figure out the river sedimentation problem properly, it is a must to store, retrieve, and analyze the acquired data. A powerful GIS system is needed. This paper is an attempt to provide an integrated system for continuous updating and recording the updates in the River Nile.
