Abstract: The construction of Sendai Port completed in 1974 caused considerable evolution of surrounding coast, mostly due to wave reflection from a breakwater of 2km long. Further, remarkable change in river mouth morphology was observed at the Nanakita River mouth, which is located about 2km south of the Sendai Port. In the present study, consequence of coastal and river mouth morphology in this area is described based on field survey data of shoreline position, along with highly frequent aerial photographs.
