Abstract: The combined finite-discrete element method simulations are an effective way to study ice-structure interaction process. The simulated process is known to be sensitive to the initial conditions. Here we exploit this sensitivity by conducting a statistical study on ice load records from sets of repeated simulations and present the results from our time series analysis on these records. We then discuss the evolution and predictability of the ice loading process based on the time series analysis.
