Abstract: New experiments revealed that the stress-driven healing of shear faults in saline ice, whenconfined under biaxial compressive stress of σ = 60 to 750 kPa for times from t = 3 s to 18 hat temperatures from -30 to -3 ℃, increases with confinement, time and temperature, scaling asσ t where n=0.29±0.02.
