Abstract: Regulated rivers face a disturbance decrease that allows for the outgrowth of aquatic vegetation, particularly the channel invasion by competitively superior alien species. We used binary multiple logistic regression to compute the occurrence probabilities of alien and native aquatic vegetation species according to different hydraulic parameters in an attempt of discriminating their habitat requirements. We were able to determine minimum ecohydraulic conditions in the river that induce low probabilities of occurring alien species, in some cases below the likely occurrence of native species.
