Abstract: Myanmar is located in the centre of Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot, however, it is vulnerable in terms of conservation for water environment and living organism except for certain areas. Suppling good quality of water is becoming difficult. Restoration of the natural environment is required. On the other hand, the economic activities in urban areas are given priority. The country has diverse life culture that should be respected, environmental protection measures with development are necessary. In this paper, we collect examples on the water quality and evaluate water resources in Myanmar. There are many unclear factors of water footprint, blue water availability evaluations. The basal information is necessary to discuss future issues on water environment.
