Abstract: To summarize the last 20 years, efforts to preserve or restoration river environments have steadily been progressing steadily at the country or regional level for 15 years until the Great East Japan Earthquake, but due to the 2011 Great Earthquake, the national land management has made a major turnaround to disaster prevention measures. However, since around 2015 the idea of green infrastructure and green resilience has appeared, efforts to create new environments that integrate disaster prevention and environmental conservation are about to begin.
