Abstract: Raising the awareness of climate change and environmental pollution among the youth is one of the most important educational challenges of our times. The equally important subject is the need to teach and show examples of cooperation and working together by including people of all gender, races etc., based on their skills not by prejudices. We would like to discuss here an opportunity to merge these two issues by showing the potential of a local environment monitoring programme as an additional, outside-school activity and the examples of recent similar activities in Poland.
