Abstract: Toshka project was constructed in 1978 as complementary safety for High Aswan Dam. Therefore, the excess flood water passes out of lake Nasser via Khor Toshka to a Toshka depression through a man made channel. The project is consists of Three artificial works were constructed on the flow route. These works are Toshka Spillway, Toshka Channel, and an Ogee weir. The spillway is uncontrolled, as the flow will pass over its sill when the upstream water level exceeds 178.00 amsl. The main purposes for the Ogee weir are: (1) To maintain the water surface slope of the channel upstream reach; (2) To be used as a drop structure as there is a 2.5 m elevation difference in the channel bed between the upstream and downstream of the weir; (3) To be used as a measuring device for the channel discharge
