Abstract: Pressure fluctuations beneath hydraulic jump with abrupt lateral expansion were measured and analyzed systematically by means of stochastic signal processing technology. The variance laws of statistical characteristics about frequency and amplitude of pressure fluctuation were obtained. Test results were compared with those of classical jump, which indicates that the peak frequencies and intensity coefficients of pressure fluctuations are higher than those of the corresponding classical jump. Then a reasonable explanation was present.
