Abstract: The three-dimensional hydraulic jump for high Froude numbers and large width-depth ratios is presented. In this case, the hydraulic jump has an uncommon geometry, somewhat similar to that of the undular hydraulic jump or the hydraulic jumps in triangular or trapezoidal channels, but with different components. In this paper, the special characteristics of this phenomenon and the limits of the two-dimensional hydraulic jump for rectangular sections are given.
