Abstract: Physical model tests are conducted for the investigation of ice forces acting on the structure with combined cone by using the new kind of non-frozen breakable synthetic material. The total ice forces are measured and the flexural failure processes of model ice sheets are recorded. The measured ice forces agree well with the predicted results of Croasdale's and Ralston's theoretical model. Also the ice force power spectra are derived by the ice force-time curves with the method of Fast Fourier Transfer and the regression correlation of the characteristic ice forces and the zero order moments of ice force spectra are achieved.
