Abstract: Numerical results obtained in the application of a finite volume technique in the bidimensional simulation of free surface unsteady flows are presented in this work. It has been applied to the simulation of a flood wave in the Toce river physical model. This model is a simplified one, built in ENEL (Italy), representing the first 5km reach of the Toce river, located in the Northern Italian Alps. Experimental data and numerical results are compared.
