Abstract: Estuaries are highly complex environments and have been described as one of the most difficult environments on Earth. Tidal rivers in estuaries should be understood and regulated from the viewpoint of multidisciplinary. Firstly, hydraulic dynamic control can be used, on the basis of the simulation of tidewater trace, some water conservancy facilities such as the connected channel, water gates, etc. can be established, according to appropriate operating programs, the tidal energy can effectively cause the exchange of water body and improve water quality in Xinzhen tidal river in Shenzhen city of China. Secondly, a kind of active filler (oyster shells) is used to treat tidal combined wastewater and gain expected effect in a steel sheet box on the bank of Fengtang tidal river in Shenzhen city of China, The average removal ratio of COD, BOD5, NH3-N, TN, TP, SS is 80.05 %, 85.02 %, 82.05 %, 81.54 %, 50.06 %, 85.32 %, respectively. The active filler (oyster shells) is of a significant to combined tidal wastewater treatment at estuary.
