Abstract: Goupitan Hydropower Station is located in Yuqing county of middle Guizhou province, on main stream of Wujiang River. The main function of this project is power generation, the others functions including navigation, flood control etc. Six surface outlets and seven middle outlets are arranged on arch dam. One flood discharging tunnel is arranged on left bank of dam site. By a series of hydraulic model study, it is recommended that the exit form of surface outlets adopts plane diffusion, diversion teeth and variational flip angles, middle outlets adopt flat bottom form and upward trajectory form. Due to flood discharging tunnel adopting oblique trajectory bucket with anomalous embossment, riverbed scour will not endanger the safety of this project even under the most disadvantageous condition. According to flood spray atomization model test results, rainfall distribution around dam site is predicted and bank slope protection suggestion is submitted to the design staff.
