Abstract: This work developed an integrated technical program for rehabilitation of urban waters' functions by correlated engineering measures in Guilin City, China. Main problems involved structural damage and functional deterioration of the urban waters. A rehabilitation scheme was proposed and corresponding rivers and lakes project was carried to handle with the problems during 1998-2002. Improvement of waters' functions included water system reconstruction, water pollution control, water safety guarantee, and aquatic ecological restoration. The project has brought about sound ecological, economic and social benefits.
