Abstract: Model integration and coupling in water related interdisciplinary projects is a demanding challenge due to the different model approaches, the different time and space scales, the different physical state variables and processes as well as the different technologies and structures of the related software tools. This paper described a general concept to couple and to integrate models of different type (numerical simulation, data analysis, information management) and from different disciplines within one hybrid hydroinformatics system. The concept is demonstrated for an interdisciplinary research unit with information models from extensive field measurements and laboratory experiments as well as simulation models from hydrology, hydrodynamics, geohydraulics and soil mechanics.
