Abstract: In regard to the environmental condition of the sea, we have regular red tide occurrence and the generation of the oxygen depleted water mass in summer in some area of the Seto Inland Sea located at the western part of Japan. We concern about the impact of those phenomena against biological production process in the real sea area (Omori, 2003, Takahashi, 2004 and Ue & Ueta, 2004). Therefore, we propose the technology for improving sediment environment by setting one unique structure, which accelerates vertical mixture of bottom layer water by its current control function. We examined that the current situation around the structure which has a long retention area by water flow, with hydraulic experiment. The substrate of the superstructure is porous material which has sufficient function of excellent adherence of preferable prey organisms (Yasuoka, 2007). Moreover, we also examined that the controlled current around the structure increased the possibility of sea weed rootage and it is suggested that it would provide better environments for marine organisms (Miyagawa, 2008).
