Abstract: In recent years, non-point source pollution in water quality management has become more and more significant for water environmental protection. The objective of this study was to apply the soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) for non-point source pollution simulation to a data scarce catchment, Yuanhe catchment, in South-East China. Model parameters were calibrated by making full use of the insufficient streamflow, sediment and nutrient data of the catchment. The results indicated that the simulated runoff and water quality values were acceptably close to the observed data. The results show that SWAT is a useful tool for non-point source pollution simulation for a data scarce catchment.
