Abstract: This paper presents development of a one-dimensional sediment transport model for continuous simulations of suspended sediment transportation through a particular stream section. In this model the transport processes of suspended sediments along particular stream is simulated based on stream flow, bottom boundary condition and near-bed reference concentration. The model was developed by modifying the commonly used Van Rijn's mathematical expressions, which calculate the transportation rate of suspended sediment per unit area of the stream bed. Simulation results of the developed model under different scenario are presented in this paper. Sensitivity analysis of the model showed that all the particles characteristics within incoming stream flows are important for the better prediction of transport rate. The results demonstrate the logical capability of the model to simulate the transportation of suspended sediment through a particular stream section.
