Abstract: The groundwater flow and the seawater intrusion into a coastal aquifer in northern part of Sultanate of Oman have been studied using the numerical models developed by USGS. For groundwater flow, MODFLOW and for seawater intrusion MT3DMS coupled with MODFLOW have been used. It is observed that after calibration, using the available data, the models perform very well in predicting the water levels and salinity concentration. These models may be used as management tools in order to specify the pumping schedules and development of new recharge facilities by the decision makers in order to counter the salinity intrusion problem in the study area.
