Abstract: The lack of data makes impossible, in many cases, the use of continuous simulation to control the impact of stormwater discharged in receiving water body. The aim of this study is to provide information about the impact on receiving water bodies of hydrographs and pollutographs generated by design storms. A recently proposed conceptual model able to simulate the presence of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) in stormwater has been used to test different possible design storms and to decide which provide the worst impact on the receiving water body. The tests carried out show that design storms with triangular or Chicago shape and duration similar to the concentration time of the catchment are in several cases the worst regarding impact on receiving water body.
