Abstract: In this paper, the flow structure and resistance characteristic of penetrating frame tetrahedron-like are investigated using the Acoustic -- Doppler Velocimeter automatic measuring analyzing system and Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) flow visualization technique. Based on studies on flow structure of different rod transection of frame and different combined forms of frame, mechanism of deceleration and deposition promotion is analyzed. Through dimension analyzing methods, the relation with drag coefficient and Reynolds number is obtained. As application, Tetrahedron-like Penetrating Frame groups are applied to bank-protection project in Jiujiang stage of Yangtse River and good effectiveness of bank-protection is obtained.
