Abstract: Hydrodynamic and meteorological database is very important for any hydrodynamic and water quality studies. It is used in the calibration and verifications of the hydrodynamic and water quality models. Long-term hydrodynamic data enables a better understanding of the hydrodynamics and flow characteristics of the study area. The hydrodynamic and meteorological database is set-up in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The aim of the database is to provide the data needed for the developments of the hydrodynamic and water quality models. The long-term data is used to determine the annual variation of the seawater temperature, air temperature and wind conditions (wind speed and direction). The paper will present the set-up of the hydrodynamic and meteorological database. The distribution of the seawater temperature in the tidal waters around Abu Dhabi Island obtained from the available data will be presented. The annual variation of seawater temperature, air temperature and wind conditions will be shown. The paper will present the tidal characteristics around Abu Dhabi Island, based on the analysis of the available hydrodynamic data.
