Abstract: There is a dearth of knowledge and teaching experience in water management. Owing to increasing water demands and reducing availability of water resources, management is becoming a necessity. The traditional subjects of hydrodynamics, hydraulic engineering and water chemistry are being supplanted by the broader understanding of the world we live in. New problems and solutions unbounded by disciplines are emerging at a rapid pace. Experience in teaching water management at an international level reveals an appreciation of the need from both developed and developing countries. The Internet now enables the link to be made and teaching to be conducted from practically anywhere. Microsoft Netmeeting facilitates vocal, visual and screen projection to individuals and classes. Group Email enables assignments to be discussed and marked
