Abstract: This paper compares the erosion in a 1:3 scale model and a 1:1 prototype scale model with the Mason and Veronese equations. The models simulate flow overtopping a steep dam, impacting at the base of the dam. The purpose of the comparison is to validate either the Mason or Veronese equations for a particular application.
