Abstract: The massive mortality of fishes that took place downstream of Yacyreta Dam, resulting from supersaturation of total dissolved gases, generated diagnosis studies of the causes and of possible corrective solutions to avoid re-occurrence. The causes of the environmental conflict are detailed, and changes in the original geometry of the spillway are analyzed through physical modelling, in order to reduce the supersaturation.
