Abstract: This paper investigates the aspect of one-dimensional modeling of the centrifugal effect on flow over an obstacle with simultaneous geometric changes in both the bottom and sidewall boundaries. Experiments were performed to provide laboratory measurements on the water surface profile along the obstacle. The measurements were compared to the results of a numerical analysis based on the control volume approach by Fenton (1996).
