Abstract: A hydrodynamic model of one and two-dimensional combined analysis for floodwave propagation from breached levee in protected lowland is studied. Overflow through the breached levee is treated as internal boundary condition in a channel. The model is applied to the actual levee-break case and two dimensional velocity distributions and inundated depths are presented to demonstrate the simulation results. The computed results have good agreements with observed data in terms of inundated depth, flood arrival time, and flooded area.
