Abstract: A "holistic" design approach has been developed to improve an irrigation system. Understanding the demographic, agricultural and hydraulic parameters are key elements in the project. The proposed branching network services an approximate area of 4 1 5 Hectares with irrigation water from a single supply source. Prior to designing the network, only 10 percent of the total serviced area was irrigated effectively. This design approach may be used as a template for future similar projects. Enhancement of irrigation water management is a principal benefit of the developed approach.
