Abstract: Three-dimensional bed configurations and two-dimensional distributions of the velocity on the flow surface were measured simultaneously under the flood condition. The bed configurations were obtained by scanning echo-sounder over the measuring area and the velocity was measured by continuous photographing of surface flow patterns. The measurements were made every 2 or 3 hours during a flood. In this paper, the methods of measurement and the data analysis to obtain two-dimensional velocity distributions over the flow surface are described. Some results obtained by the measurements are also shown and discussed.
