Abstract: A new adaptable measuring method employed in a laboratory flume has been developed for detection of bed shear stress and sediment erosion of cohesive matter, namely those quantities that play a dominant role in environmental hydraulics. After a brief discussion of the experimental facilities and data evaluation its efficiency and reliability is demonstrated for two selected field sediments taken from the river of Loire/France.
