Abstract: Estuarine modelling is in the process of evolving from single discipline models run by technical specialists to multi-discipline models run by generalist managers, with strong links to broadly based information systems. This paper addresses the data needs for estuarine models in this new modelling context. An example from the Snowy Estuary in southern Australia is used to illustrate the model sensitivity to data variations.
