Abstract: The restoration of the Kissimmee River includes re-establishing the physical form and functions representative of historic conditions. A pilot project to test the construction methodologies was conducted and monitored. The results provided valuable information regarding construction methods, water management issues, and erosion and deposition processes. Long term monitoring has indicated that the formation of new channels has been artificially promoted and that the ability to replicate this in future construction phases is questionable.
