Abstract: This paper presents a simple numerical model of quasi-3D wave-induced current due to wave breaking. In order to determine the vertical distribution of the current velocity in the longshore and cross-shore direction, time-averaged N-S equations that incorporate the components of wave particle velocity and turbulent fluctuation due to wave breaking are solved numerically. The results of calculation show that the distribution of current near the surface is different from that near the bottom. Thus, nearshore currents appear to have spiral distribution.
