Abstract: The objective of this report is to discuss the characteristics of flows in Arctic Seas (the Kara and the Barents) in connection with marine contamination. Using the observation data (water temperature and salinity), the authors conducted flow analysis taking into account river flows and density structures in the seas. Additional research was also conducted on the relationship between the results of flow analysis and the migration of cod larvae in the Barents Sea. Concentration analysis and exposure dose analysis were conducted on the basis of a release scenario with considerations given to nuclide decay, mixing, scavenging and interaction between undersea particles and the bottom sediment layer.
