Abstract: We are investigating a stretch of the Seine river, located downsteam Paris, which receives two large zones of Combined Sewage Overflows discharges. To appraise mixing characteristics of the river in this stretch, one dye-tracing experiment, which was accurately sampled is precisely investigated with the help of a set of bidimensional finite element models (current and mixture transport). This simulation tools allow to determine mixing coefficient of the flow and decay coefficient of the rhodamine used in this experiment. Three implemented schemes in the mixture transport model, tested on this case, lead to different values of the transverse diffusion coefficient, which points out the importance of a relevant accurate scheme for convection diffusion equation.
