Analysis of Stability of River Network Geomorphologic Parameters Using DEM Data of Japanese Catchments

Abstract: Understanding and using river network is important for river hydraulics and catchment surface hydrology. This paper analyses geomorphologic parameters (Horton's ratios, fractal dimension, width function and area function) of river network extracted from DEM data. Stability of these parameters are discussed. Width function and area function give more details of river network, and is useful for catchment hydrologic modeling.
