Abstract: Results from an experimental study on oil thickness lc-ft on a beach whe. nsubjected to repeated turbulence are presented. The experiments include several different types of beaches subjected to varying levels of turbulence. The study shows the following: the oil film thickness left on a beach de-cre. ases exponentially with the increase of the turbulence, energy level; at lower levels of turbulence the type of beach does not significantly affect the oil film thickness left on the beach; and the oil film thickness decreases exponentially with time.
