Abstract: Based on 3-D simulation of flow, a numerical model for mobile bed evolution is developed. Both sediment transport rate and its direction are evaluated with consideration of both bottom flow direction and local bed inclination in streamwise as well as in the lateral. Comparisons of the computed results for two scenari in a sine-generated meandering channel with the measurements show that the present method can reproduce well the point bar and pool in both their magnitudes and locations.
