Abstract: In densely populated area in Japan, underground storage or tunnels systems are being planned to a storm water disposal instead of river conservation works from the view point of underground utilization. In the case that underground tunnel systems are deeply located, a vertical drop structure to connect the near-surface storm drainage system with them is required to deal with energy dissipation and deaeration adequately.
