Abstract: This paper shows a method of water quality purification ina bay by using a cooling water intake of a power plant by a simulation of water quality. The calculated changes in water quality when drawing water from inside of the bay and draining it to outside of the bay are shown. The results of the simulation show that when the intake is located at the head of the bay, chlorophyll-a at the head of the bay remarkably decreases to about 30% that when the intake is located at the mouth of the bay from June to October.
