Abstract: Jinhae Bay is very important region for culture and fishing ground, which is located at the southem coast of Korea. However, since a large industrial complex has developed along the coastline of the bay during last two decades, the sewage discharge of more than 600,000 tons a day flows into the bay,not being well-treated. As a result, the water quality in the bay is now extremely getting worse. Especially in 1981 a huge unprecedented red tide by Gymnodinium mikimotoi happened all around the bay and after that, the red tide appears nearly annually. Recently,Jinhae Bay has been faced the crisis of losing its fame for a golden fishing ground.
