Abstract: Sediment and flow data were collected during flood events from three ephemeral compound channels in Saudi Arabia, and used to study the spatial distribution of pollutants along the flood plain and main channel subsections. The concentrations of nutrients, ions, and trace metals in the flood plain subsections are generally lower than those in the main channel subsections. They significantly vary with channel, flow, and suspended sediment characteristics.
