Abstract: The case deals with the construction of Kruonis (untill 1992 - Kaisiadorys) pumped storage hydroelectric plant (PSHP). Lithuania. It was designed in Moscow in the 1970s-80s. Its construction started in the nineties and lasts up to now. Kruonis PSHP had to be one of the greatest in Europe: planed maximal total capacity is 8x200=1600 MW, discharge - 1800m^3/s, gross head - 110m. It had to improve the parameters of north-western power system of the former USSR in tandem with Ignalina nuclear power plant which maximal total capacity had to be about 6000 MW.
