Abstract: The present paper concentrates on improvements to the Holly-Preissmann (HP) scheme that allow better representation of steep fronts(elimination of overshots and wiggles) as well as consistent introduction of boundary conditions, which is equivalent to the ability to handle Courant numbers higher than 1.0.
