Abstract: Two-dimensional model that describes snow-ice cover growth in mineralized water is developed. As a result of salt-free ice increasing before the front of crystallization a layer with higher mineralization and of variable density is formed. The natural convection effect on downward freezing of water is observed. All phenomena listed above affects of the freezing-point and of the speed of freezing water and ice growth process. The mathematical statement based on Stefan's problem. Task comes to the solution of the Stokes problem of Bussinesk’s approximation in water body and the equations of heat conductivity for temperature conditions in ice and snow layers. The front rectification method allowing setting the equations in a regular domain is used.
