Abstract:

The management and composition of rivers in which nature and man can coexist are critical to the management of ecofriendly streams. Various studies are being conducted at home and abroad to assess the river environment, which is to improve and restore the stream environment. River environment assessment methods of Republic of Korea were applied as they were river environment assessment methods of outside the country. so It was concluded that the current domestic assessment system fail to reflect various characteristics of Korean river condition. It is difficult to apply the assessment results because it only presents the final evaluation results of natural maps, not the presentation of results by index.

The purpose of this study is to propose a multipurpose stream improvement and restoration plan by combining 4th industrial technologies with various river environment assessment techniques to overcome existing spatial and temporal limitations. A comprehensive review of the evaluation methods applied to the existing stream environment techniques and advanced cases abroad was conducted to present efficient alternatives for problems. Further, it analyzes the applicability of remote sensing technologies through video analysis of river systems and habitats using the recently increasing GIS and remote exploration.
