Abstract: Fracture mechanics method is used for estimation of fatigue crack growth of tubular joints for a Bohai jacket platform under dynamic sea ice loadings. According to field observation, two typical ice loading patterns - stochastic and lock-in (dynamic interaction) loadings are considered in the analysis. The fatigue crack growth model accepted in the analysis is based on the results of particularly performed low temperature tests of the material. Fatigue life of a three legged Bohai production jacket under dynamic ice loadings is deduced from the analysis, and this is followed by discussions.
